Home » Height & Tight Access Works
Plumbing work at height and in tight spaces: mezzanines, pipe racks, roof spaces, pits and crowded plant rooms. Planned and carried out with the right equipment and safety controls.
In industrial buildings the pipework that needs attention is rarely at floor level. Air mains run along high walls, water and fire mains sit on pipe racks above production, and drains run through pits and service trenches. Getting to them safely is often the hardest part of the job.
SWR Plumbing carries out height and tight access plumbing works on industrial and commercial sites in Melbourne. We plan access, set up the right equipment and controls, and complete the work without putting people or production at risk.
Every job starts with an access plan. We identify the safest way to reach the work, whether that is an elevated work platform, scaffold, ladder access, harness and anchor points or another method suited to the area.
We set up exclusion zones below overhead work, coordinate with forklift and traffic movements, and follow your site’s permit requirements for working at height and other high risk activities. Safe work method statements are prepared and reviewed with the crew before work starts.
Where the job cannot be done safely during production, we plan it for a shutdown or quiet period.
Height and tight access works support most of our industrial services, including compressed air and gas, fire hydrants and hose reels and plant maintenance. See our industrial plumbing Melbourne page for the full list.
It depends on the job. We use elevated work platforms, scaffolds, ladders and harness systems, and we can arrange hire equipment where the site does not have it.
